In Texas, you’re probably wondering how long it’s going to take to resolve your DWI. There are multiple steps that have to happen. A DPS hearing needs to be requested within 15 days. After you make the request for the DPS hearing, that hearing will happen in about 60 days. Your actual criminal case, which is separate from the DPS hearing, can take anything from two to three months up to two years. Normally, it’s around a nine month period, where you end up in a situation where you’d make a decision. Are you going to try it? Are you going to resolve it? I would say probably 50% of the time the cases are resolved in around six months.
